It's a good idea to have the same book designer work on your interior in order to create a consistant package. Whether I create your cover or another designer has I will work to develop a look to your interior that is in attractive, clean and in harmony with the cover.
Basic Design Set-Up
For the basic design set-up I charge $150.00. This includes working with you to develop a pleasing design for the headers, chapter headings, fonts, margin widths, as well as photo placement, and charts (if included in the manuscript).
Layout
To layout (formatting and paginating) a basic book without charts or graphs I charge $5.00/page. Charts, graphs, and complex formatting will raise the per page price up between the $5.50 - $7.00/page range. I work on Indesign and save your files on disc ready for printing.
Terms
One third down after we agree upon a design from the samples I send you. Another third after first proofing of book. A final third upon completion.
Terms are negotiable.
Steps to Getting Started
To begin you will need to send your completely finished and edited manuscript to me via email. Your manuscript can be sent as a Word document or something similar.
After looking over your manuscript I will estimate a price based on the number of pages, charts, photos and the complexity of the formatting.
Once we agree on the cost for your project, I will begin on the basic set-up design and send you a PDF sample within five business days.
When the basic design is established the rest of the book will be paginated and sent to you within 15 business days.
